It would have been nice if the game had given us any indication of this, she doesn't look gold, she doesn't make the gold skeleton 'clink' sound when hurt. apparently Briggsy is a Gold Skeleton and would have rusted in the water. We googled after the fact to see if we had missed something. My crew had had enough and quit the game, annoyed that the mission took so long and had no way of completing it. They killed our gunner, looted our food barrel, and burned the ship down. Then randomly, the player firing the cannon called out that an enemy player had boarded the ship, this random player didn't have a ship anywhere to be found, and decided it was his sole mission to interrupt our Tall Tale. We each died 5-6 times, we killed about 100 skeletons and Briggsy was not slowing down. My crew were getting very fed up with the mission at this point, no fight should drag on this long. For all we know she healed back to full and the fight dragged on. We hit her plenty of times but the first and only indication that she was actually taking damage was her stopping to eat some food. NOPE.Īnother 15 minutes of two players running circles around her, and the other bombarding her with cannon balls. Worked great in the past for tougher enemies. So we decided to bring the ship around the island to the beach where we could shoot her with our cannons. We were getting pretty annoyed after 40 minutes with no indication she was taking any damage at all. She can raise an infinite number of skeletons and can apparently absorb an infinite amount of damage without slowing down. When we found her though, we didn't know it was going to take a good 40 minutes of hacking, and slashing. We enjoyed the heck out of the quest line, find the islands, get the key and chest, and then we were off to fight Briggsy. Ok so, I want to share my crew's experience attempting the Tall Tale that has you fight Captain Briggsy.
